OKAY.
as always, drawn first and cleaned up on SAI. i used the water brush to shade this time instead of the air brush. what do you guys think? too much?

i know that is not what Lightning's house looked like. but i was too lazy to look up references.
oh, Squall calls her Light, hm? ;) and, yes. this is my OTP. Squall x Lightning. i really wish there had been some kind of romantic thing in Duodecim because fuck Rinoa.

whoa now, okay, i don't have any qualms about Lightning/Fang. but Squinoa is totally out of the question! everything that happened to Squall was Rinoa's fault.

Fate dude, if Laguna had married Rinoa's mom, neither would exist. If you have anyone to blame for how shit turned out, Blame Laguna and Adel.

i already do blame Laguna for not figuring out he has a son :P
but if Squall hadn't accepted Rinoa's little rebellion mission, he'd be having a relatively normal life. No getting impaled by icicles, arrested, electrocuted, fighting hundreds of feet of above the ground, lost in space, ALMOST DYING outside of time...all that. her fault.

He's a mercenary, he accepted the mission, still not her fault. When you accept a job, you accept the possibility that you just might die in the process, living isn't always an option. No one ever said it would be easy defeating a sorceress, just that it could be done.

No risk, no reward.

okay, i understand that part of it. but no where in the contract he was given did say anything about going to space, getting lost, fighting unknown monsters, fighting another sorceress and hordes of monsters, and going to the future for yet another sorceress. i kinda he think he might've reconsidered if he knew. but whatever, that's me.

No, but that's how things turn out, even the best laid plans can be laid to waste. Life happens man, just accept it.

When you take a job, you don't know what the expected outcome is going to be and trying to change it after it has already happened is a moot point.

It was their fate and their destiny to go on that adventure together, it had been set in motion log before they were born. You can no more blame Rinoa that you can blame the moon for reflecting the sun.

Seriously, if Adel didn't have sorceress powers she wouldn't have ruled Ester, then Laguna wouldn't have had to go on a suicide mission that took him away from his first love. Then the whole story of FF VIII as we know it wouldn't exist.

BUT IT DOES, nothing changes that.

holy crap, man, just let this go. nothing you say will change the fact that i hate and blame rinoa for just about everything. i hated her since the second she came on screen. i think lightning is much better for squall, but i know that's not gonna happen. so just let this go

Nice pic. Ambitious pose. Love the concept. Great job! :D

I ship Squall/Lightning hard, too XD When Duodecim came, I was hoping for at least a friendship scene between them to happen but ended with one line. Damn you, Squeenix!
